Tom birthday

Tom Cruise has been ruling the hearts of women for the last four decades with his dapper smile and handsome looks. He can be easily called one of the biggest Hollywood stars of this generation. He debuted in 1981 with ‘Endless Love’ and fortunately, that’s what he got in return from his fans as well.

Tom Cruise has presented us with many iconic films like ‘Risky Business’, ‘Top Gun’, ‘Cocktail’, ‘A Few Good Men’, ‘Jerry Maguire’, among many others. He was also cast opposite some of the most beautiful actresses of his time.

As the ‘Mission Impossible’ star turns 59 on July 3 this year, let’s take a look at his finest films:

1. Top Gun (1986)

Anyone who was in their teenage or 20s for sure cannot forget the impact ‘Top Gun’ Tom Cruise had on them. This film alone made him the megastar he is today and remains one of the greatest movies of all time. Cruise plays a ‘flyboy’ in the film who goes to The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School, with a reckless and cocky attitude and later faces consequences.

2. A Few Good Men (1992)

This Tom Cruise film is a pure cinematic pleasure. The film revolves around the court-martial of two U.S. Marines charged with the murder of a fellow Marine and the tribulations of their lawyers as they prepare a case to defend their clients. Cruise same through the film despite having a strong set of stars cast opposite him.

3. Jerry Maguire (1996)

This role of a beaten-down sports agent was initially offered to Tom Hanks but ultimately landed on Tom Cruise. Cruise was too good-looking to lay an underdog in the film but anyone who watches the film can easily say that Cruise lived up to the expectations and gave an intense and heartfelt performance.

4. Cocktail (1988)

It’s like this film was made for us to just look at Tom Cruise’s pretty face. He plays the role of a bartender. Slinging rum shots, wearing loose shirts, on the beach, in a club – this film was genuinely a feast to the eyes.

5. Vanilla Sky (2001)

Vanilla Sky was an American science fiction psychological thriller film directed, written, and co-produced by Cameron Crowe. The film has been described as “an odd mixture of science fiction, romance and reality warp”. The film stars Tom Cruise, Penélope Cruz, and Cameron Diaz. It can be called one of Cruise’s finest films.
