Inoculation drive for Karnataka’s remote Areas

Flag off to ‘ vaccination-on-wheels ‘ in Karnataka to boost Inoculation drive in remote areas.

On Thursday Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with key state dignitaries Dr. Devi Shetty chairman, (Narayana Health) , Mr. Kamal Bali(President and MD of Volvo group of India) and Mr. Ramesh Ramadurai, (Chairman, CII, Karnataka) flagged off a mobile clinic called ”vaccination-on-wheels” , to inoculate people against Covid-19 in remote areas.

Vaccination on wheels

This free vaccination campaign is driven by the chairman of CII and with the president of Volvo group and Narayana Health. The main motive of this campaign is to vaccinate the whole population of Karnataka, and through this initiative they want to ease the accessibility to the vaccine for all, including those who are unable to come forward to the vaccination centers owing to distance or physical constrains.

In the initial phase we are looking at inoculating around 20,000 and then later expand to a wider population.

The Volvo vaccination bus will operate for four to six months with a capacity to administer 700-800 doses per day. The bus is fully equipped for the purpose, including 4 vaccination stations, storage and refrigeration of the vaccines, emergency beds, pantry and a chemical toilet. The bus will be accompanied by experienced Doctor’s and paramedics from Narayana health who will administer and oversee the inoculation process, together with onsite registration and waiting areas for public.
