As the festival season is approaching the rush of people towards markets will increase, which can lead to large number of social gatherings and a spike to COVID 19 cases.
On Saturday, While taking consideration to the rising COVID 19 cases in some states , the ministry of home affairs (MHA) extended the existing containment guidelines for the coronavirus pandemic till 30th September. The MHA asked the states to ensure that there should not be large gatherings during the upcoming festive season.
In the new COVID guidelines , the MHA has asked states to continue their focus on the five- fold strategy to tackle Covid-19- Test-track-treat-vaccination, and Covid- appropriate Behaviour.
” Pandemic situation as the national level now appears to be largely stable, except for the localised spread of virus in few states. Moreover, the total number of active cases and high case productivity in some districts continues to remain in a matter of concern ,” Home secretary Ajay Bhalla said in a statement.
